New drug laws
Kentucky is implementing new drug laws...People that get caught with marijuana may never have to spend even one day in jail. It is a result of prison overcrowding and hopefully more states will join in!!

Legalize and Tax Marijuana
The illegal trade of marijuana has Mexican drug cartels booming with business. If we were to legalize Marijuana and then tax and regulate it not only would it cut down on violent crime but it could potentially boost the economy dramatically. It would also cut down on the arrests of nearly 80,000 people a year who are put in jail for having a small personal amount of marijuana (under 2 oz.). There are only benefits if we were to legalize marijuana, I can't think of a single negative thing except the drug cartels will be financially hurting. That's not negative for us but for Mexico. The U.S. government has an agreement with the Mexican government that we won't legalize marijuana because it will put law enforcement on both side out of work and keeping it illegal is financially beneficial to both governments.
